Atriplex Nummularia - 14cm

Atriplex nummularia, old man saltbush, is a hardy Australian native shrub with silvery-grey foliage and a broad spreading habit. It is particularly useful in dry gardens, habitat plantings, erosion-control projects and exposed landscape sites where low water use and resilience are important. Mature plants commonly reach around 2 to 3m high and 2 to 4m wide, forming a substantial rounded-to-spreading shrub. The pale foliage gives strong contrast against greener native plants and works well in informal, low-maintenance designs. It is also a recognised bush-food species, though consumption should only occur where plants are correctly identified and grown appropriately.
